After an usually trying day with my three year old daughter Brooklyn, I was struggling to find peace and quite. We were both tired and cranky on the drive home from her G’s (Grandma’s). Trying to change the subject, I asked if she wanted to take a bath. Of course, she did. I asked if she wanted bubble bath, of course, absolutley she did. Then she paused and asked if she could make her own bubble bath in my ‘laboratory’ (aka the attic). Of course! After asking what she wanted to make she came up with Freshly Squeezed Lemonade. She mixed sparkling lemonade fragrance, a combination of Meyer lemon and 7-Up, colored it bright yellow and demanded to add actual sugar. I was so proud of her! E#ven though she is a spitting image of her dad, she takes after her mama too. I hopped in the bath with my daughter. The water was refreshingly tart and sweet, the perfect scent of lemonade to transport you to childhood. We both emerged happy and couldn’t stop giggling. Lesson learned, when life hands you a stressful day, dip into a warm bath bubbling over with the refreshing scent of old-fashioned lemonade.
